Fall 2009 Enrollments and Survey Results

UT TeleCampus enrollments for the fall 2009 semester totaled 7,714 on the campuses census dates, a 30% increase from fall 2008. Students had the opportunity to register for 248 courses, taught by 187 faculty, from 12 campuses. The UT TeleCampus programs with the largest enrollment were:
  • General Education (1,575)
  • Criminology & Criminal Justice Online (1,377)
  • Master of Education, Instructional Specialist/Alternative Teacher Certification Program (569)
  • Master of Business Administration Online (492)
Campuses with the largest UT TeleCampus enrollments were:
  • UT El Paso (1,906)
  • UT Arlington (1,888)
  • UT Permian Basin (1,537)
  • UT Brownsville (1,015)
UT TeleCampus Fall enrollments were 63% undergraduate and 37% graduate.


Highlights from the UTTC Student Survey administered during the fall 2009 semester include:
  • 69 percent of respondents stated that their involvement with the UT System is a direct result of the UT TeleCampus.
  • 88 percent of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that their experience with the UT TeleCampus was positive.
  • 57 percent of respondents said that they visited the UT TeleCampus Getting Started webpage. (This section of the UT TeleCampus website is developed to help students succeed by providing necessary tips and resources for a good early start on the semester including: computer setup information, campus liaisons and contact information for support in their online courses.)
